RISE Psychological Services is dedicated to empowering clients to develop a strong identity, form and maintain healthy relationships, and live authentically. RISE clinician Dr. Del Sasso (NJ Psychologist #5227, currently licensed as Stephanie Sasso) treats adults, couples, adolescents, and families with a wide variety of life challenges and concerns. Dr. Sasso (they/them/their) specializes in sex and gender diversity, and has developed a particular specialty working with transgender people across the lifespan.
RISE is a safe space for clients, regardless of sexual interests or practices, relationship structures, or gender expressions. It is also a welcoming practice for clients of all racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. Dr. Sasso strives to understand each client’s background and identity, and assist clients in meeting their own stated goals, rather than conforming to cultural expectations.
Current RISE Services:
- THERAPY – At this time ongoing individual and couples’ therapy services are limited to individuals over 18 seeking services related to gender and/or sexuality exploration. Due to the nature of the practice, openings for ongoing therapy are infrequent. At this time there are no openings for ongoing therapy.
- TRAINING – Workshops and trainings for professionals and the public on cultural competency with transgender and other sex and gender diverse populations including in corporate, school, legal, clinical and other settings.
- CONSULTING – Dr. Sasso consults with mental health and medical clinicians on cases and/or institutional policies or concerns involving transgender, gender diverse, and other LGBTQ+ individuals, as well as legal professionals, educational settings, and business settings.
- SURGICAL/MEDICAL EVALUATIONS – Although Dr. Sasso uses an informed consent model and does not endorse mental health gatekeeping, they do provide surgical, hormone, and other medical evaluations and evaluation letters due to the requirements by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health as well as some medical providers.
